Examination Policy
GENARAL NORMS OF EXAMINATION/TESTS
- All the students should be present in their examination rooms at or before the first bell.
- As soon as they enter the examination room, silence must be observed till the end to the examination.
- All articles like books, bags etc. should be kept outside the class room before taking the seats.
- Each and every student must try his level best to maintain a calm, peaceful, anxiety free atmosphere that will be conducive to writing the examination. Any student who does not respond to the instructions will be deal with as per the rules and regulations of the school as written here and as contained in the oral instructions given from time to time.
- Students are not allowed any books or papers on their persons. All should bring the necessary requirements for the examination.
- No student will be allowed to borrow or lend articles during the examination.
- Names and Roll. No. should be written on the question paper immediately after receiving them. Nothing else should be written on the question paper.
- No student will be sent out of the examination room before end of the allotted time for the paper. Hence, those students who are in the habit of hurrying in their work should concentrate and give a better quality work over the whole allotted time for the paper.
- If a pupil (class 6th onwards) is caught using unfair means in any examination, he/she will not be allowed under any circumstances to appear in the remaining subjects. He may also be asked to leave the school.
- While answering the papers, the following norms are to be remembered.
- Read the whole question paper at least once before you begin to answer.
- Fill in the details on the answer sheet starting the paper.
- Write question numbers correctly with blue ink. Underline the important points with black ink. After completion of each answer draw a line with a pencil. Do not use red ink for any purpose.
- For rough work, a separate sheet can be used and this sheet should be attached with the answer papers later on. All Maths rough work should be shown on the answer sheet itself. For this purpose a margin should be drawn on the right side of the answer sheet.
- If there is any doubt, students should raise their hands and ask the invigilator. Do not clarify and doubts by discussing them with your classmates/companions.
- Make sure you read carefully the answers in order to ascertain the right answers to the question asked and to correct simple mistakes that crept in.
- Students should check all the papers of the question paper and satisfy themselves that they have answered all the required number of question. In case they suspect the existence of any printing error. (e.g. blank page) or any other error, they should contact the invigilator.
- Check carefully the question numbers, divisions, and subdivisions. Read the instructions on the question paper again counter check the written answer.
COMPUTER EDUCATION
- Now the time has come when every person seeking employment either in private or Govt. sectors inevitably finds himself/herself, confronted with need to be computer oriented and literate to meet the challenges of the time.
- Students must be exposed to computer environment at a younger age when they are at primary leaning stage and when their ability to grasp is high. Exposure to computer literacy at this stage of life will help in future and open avenues for a better career in computer field/Engineering etc. Z H Convent School has introduced Computer Education.
- Science in the school curriculum, it will be taught as compulsory subject from III to X, and separate fee will be charged for the same.
- PROMOTION SCHEME
Promotion to a higher class depends upon:
- Regularity in attendance.
- Regularity and quality of day-to-day participation in the class.
- Opinion of teachers teaching in the class.
- Written work and projects assigned by the subject teachers.
- Average of the three terminal examinations.
- Internal or sessional marks in each subject.
- The answer script of the final examination will neither be shown to students nor to parents. However, in special cases, the principal may review the final exam answer script on payment of Rs. 50/- (Rs. 50 per subject) in his office with the help of his school teacher. Any such request for review has to be made through written application, accompanied by the deposit of the requisite fees, within 3 days of the declaration of the results.
Note: Since promotion sis granted on the basis of the average of the two Formative Assessment Tests, Half Yearly Exams and Annual Exams, no re-test will be held nor shall the answer papers be shown of the final exams.
- PROMOTION MARKS:
- From the total of two Formal Assessment Tests, a pupil must obtain 40% marks in each subject.
- Those who seek admission to this school have to accept this scheme of promotion. The decision of the school in the matter of promotion is final and irrevocable.
- While reviewing each report, rents/Guardians are requested to examine the home Work Diary of the student. It will be helpful in understanding as to why he/she has not come up to the expectations.
- He progress report is shown to the guardians (three) each term at the parent-teacher meeting (PTM). It is generally done within two weeks of the exams. You are requested to sign the progress report and return it there itself.
- N case a pupil is absent in a subject or an examination he/she will not be re-examined under any circumstances. In such cases, promotion of the deserving pupils will be decided on the strength of the examinations they have already appeared for and the whole year’s performance.
LEAVE RULES
- No leave application is granted except on previous written application or information sent through WhtasApp message, Voice message, e-mail, etc. from parents or guardians and then only for serious reason.
- In case of absence without leave, the student on returning to school must produce the reason of absence certificate duly signed by his parents/guardians. A student returning to school after a contagious disease should also produce a doctor’s certificate permitting him/her to do so. The school accepts no responsibility if due to failure in producing such certificate a student is obliged to return home during class hours.
- All are expected to attend the school on the re-opening day after each of the vacations. Hose absent due to sickness must produce a medical certificate before they are admitted to class. Absence more than five days renders the pupils name liable to be struck off the rolls; re-admission if granted will be done on payment of admission fee only.
- In case a pupil is absent for three or more days continuously the principal must be informed immediately in writing. If the absence of the pupil continues beyond 7 days, the principal must be informed personally by the parents or guardians of the pupil.
If for some domestic reason a pupil requires a half day or even some hours leave, parents or guardians are advised not to send their children to school for the day.
RULES OF CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE
- Every student should bring his/her School diary daily.
- Children must be in the school premises at least ten minutes before the school time.
- He warning bell before class is a signal to go their class-rooms keeping silence.
- All pupils are expected to be present for assembly during which they pray together.
- He attendance roll will be taken in the morning.
- No child is permitted to leave the school premises without the permission of the principal, which will be granted only at the specific written request of the parents.
- All should be habitually clean and always neatly dressed. The school uniform is to be worn on all class days. A student who is slovenly dressed may be excluded from the class room or even sent to home.
- During the recess pupils are expected to leave the class rooms.
- He Principal has the right to confiscate books, newspapers, periodicals and any other items which may be considered objectionable.
- All the students must speak English in the school, failing which they are liable to be punished.
- Money should not be lent or borrowed or articles changed between the students.
- No collection for any purpose whatsoever is to be started and no meeting, party or picnic may be held without previous sanction of the principal.
- Presents to the members of the staff or other demonstration in their honour also requires previous sanction.
- Any pupil desiring to be exempted from the P.T. or games must produce a doctor’s certificate to the effect that he/she is physically unfit to take part there in.
- Children have no permission to attend parties, to go to the cinema or to go to friend’s home on their way back home from school.
- All pupils should have their books in a canvas or leather bag. Aluminum or tin suitcase will not be allowed.
- Care must be taken of all school property and no pupil should scratch or spoil the desks or chairs or damage furniture of the school, write or draw anything on the wall, or in any way damage belonging of others. Damages done even by accident should be reported at once to the class teacher or to the Principal.
- All letters and correspondence addressed to pupils are subjected to the scrutiny of the principal.
- The school is not responsible for article or money lost. It is not advisable to bring valuable articles (like expenses watches, fountain pens, etc…..) to school. Pupil below standard 5th should not wear wrist watches in the school.
- Running, playing, shouting and whistling is not allowed inside the school building is never allowed.
- In the absence of the teacher in the class room, pupils are required to observe silence and obey the class perfects.
- Students are not allowed to enter classrooms other than their own.
- It is the duty of all the students to keep their class rooms and other places in and around the school, clean and in order; they should cultivate the habits of using the dustbin.
- No pupil is allowed to write on the black/white or green board unless asked to do so by the teacher.
- Before the classroom students will pick up waste paper and any unwanted material from the floor and place it in the waste paper basket, will switch off lights and fans, will leave desks and benches in proper arrangement, in general, the room will be left in a condition to be used again or next day.
- In case of accidents in the school premises, the school authorities will administer first aid to the students, but cannot be held responsible for such accidents.
- Parents and guardians are not permitted to walk into the class rooms or interview teachers during class hours.
- The name, standard and sections of the pupil should be clearly marked on all his/her belongings.
- The students should behave in a refined manner wherever they go, they should always remember that the school is judge by their conduct. They should always greet their teachers, elders and friends in a pleasant and audible tone of voice wherever, they meet them. In school or outside.
- Pupils shall be cheerful in their obedience to their parents and teachers giving them always the respect and affection and accepting their guidance and corrections with their gratitude.
- Cycles and bikes must be kept locked and at the cycle stand only. Students should not ride around the school compound on bicycles. While entering or leaving the school gate, one must walk instead of riding.
- Students who come to school in the care of servants should never leave before the servant arrives. In case of delay, they should report to the school office.
- Those who go alone should not loiter about the way. They should be prompt in returning home. Students are warned not to buy anything especially eatables from street vendors.
- Students will not be called to answer phone calls during class hours.
- Enrolment in Z H Convent School implies on the part of the pupil and parents. Willingness to comply with the requirements and regulations of the school.
He principal has the right to suspends or require the withdrawal of any pupil without having to state any reason provided that he is satisfied that such a step is necessary in the interest of the school.
